Absence, Computers, and More

Hello, Everyone!  So, I've been gone for 9 days.  And with my return, I now have 88 followers!  OhMyGosh.  That's a lot of people.  Thanks, guys!

I've been gone becuase I still don't have my own computer.  It's still in the repair shop.  All the way in California at Apple's HQ.  That's really far.  I have a temporary laptop, which used to be my dad's dad's compter.  So it's really old.  And slow.  And I kind of hate using it.
Also, I've started college, and I have sooooo mcuh work.  So much reading.  It's intimidating.  I just have to stay on track and stay focused.  I'll blog when I have time, especially on breaks.

And as I type this, I'm painting my nails China Glaze For Audrey.  It's such a pretty color.

I'm sure you're all waiting for the photos of Clarins 230 that I promised.  And when I get my computer up, they will be going up immediately.  PROMISE.

I truly hope everyone reading this is happy and at home or going home soon.  I'm already homesick.

Being Computer-less

Hello, Everyone!  I had promised to put the Clarins 230 pictures up soon, but since Saturday, I have been computer-less because I had to send my computer in for repair. And they said it will take 5-7 days from Saturday before it's returned to my possession.  So I'm sorry I've been gone!

Plus, I've been really busy packing all my things to move into the dorms for college.

But so far, my promise to not buy nail polish for 2 months is going fabulously well.  Not having a computer makes it easier because then I don't have access to other nail blogs. :D  I just have to hold on until October 10!

Clarins 230 and Cold Turkey.

Hello, Everyone!  You've probably read the title and were intrigued.

Well, first of all, I finally got up the nerve to try my Clarins 230 that I had purchased a while ago.  I always felt this intimidation from using a nail polish I payed so much for.  I was flat out afraid to use it.  But then one day, Monday more specifically, after seeing swatches of Clarins 230 on other blogs, I thought, why in the world am I not using mine?!  So then I just did it.  I put Clarins over Zoya Mira becuase I heard it looks best over purple.  When I put Clarins 230 on, it was a moment in history.  I even got my sister to video record me putting it on.  I just had to.
But I know you all don't care about this.  You just want to see the pictures!  Which, I'm sorry to tease, will not be in this post.  But they will be up shortly.  Promise.  But here's one picture so you can either hate me for not putting up more or get excited to see the rest.

And I've decided to go cold turkey for two (2), yes two months.  Meaning, I will not buy nail polish for 2 months.  I've been spending too much money on nail polish lately, so it's time I take a break.  I'm on a nail polish diet.  This started on August 10.  So it expires October 10.  I can do this.
I made my facebook status vowing not to buy merchandise regarding nail polish for 2 months.  And the comments I got were less than supportive.  A friend of mine said she is "calling my bluff now", while someone else said "it's like a smoker trying to quite cold turkey".  You guys believe in me, right?

Purple Ombre Nails!

Hello, Everyone!  It's been a while since I've posted.  And I've always wanted to try an "ombre" nails look, which is when the nail polish color fades from dark to light, with each nail a different color.  And because I love and have a lot of purple polish, I used purple.  Enjoy!

From left to right:
  • OPI Rumple's Wiggin'
  • OPI Planks A Lot
  • China Glaze Spontaneous
  • Zoya Mira
  • Combination of Zoya Mira and OPI Lincoln Park After Dark

I used 2 coats of each color.  They are ALL great purple cremes.  I highly recommend all  of them.  I really like this "ombre" look.
I just cut my nails before I took these pictures, and I think I prefer my nails this length.  They look chic. :D
