Deborah Lippmann: Bad Romance

Hello, Everyone! Today I have Deborah Lippmann's "Bad Romance" which I got for Christmas! And of course, this polish is named after Lady Gaga's song "Bad Romance" which I played as I applied the polish! :D
All the pictures are taken in direct sunlight with just two coats of nail polish. The photos are color accurate.
"Bad Romance" is a black jelly base with magenta glitter (two sizes: micro glitter and large hexagonal glitter). The first coat is streaky and it will not impress you, but after the second coat... It's GORGEOUS! So perfect. Very rocker chic. And make sure to put a top coat on to make it shiny, because then the polish looks even better. :)
The application was really good and it dried relatively fast. There really aren't any complaints about this polish. Because it's a glitter polish. you have to use the foil technique to remove it, but it's easy enough. And the wear is good, as usual with Lippmann's. No chips after several days of wear.
"Bad Romance" is part of Deborah Lippmann's Fall 2010 Collection and is available on her website HERE for $18. The only time I would spend that much money on a polish is if the color is TOTALLY unique. And her glitters are all so beautiful and one-of-a-kind, which is why those are the only ones I have from the Lippmann collection.
Today is New Year's Eve and I decided not to do a design on my nails, but instead wear the other Lippmann I got for Christmas, "Across the Universe" which I will review very soon!
I hope everyone has a nice New Year's Eve and New Years and let's all make 2011 a great year. I already have a few resolutions lined up. This year will definitely be interesting and a new experience and I'm excited. I want to thank all of my followers who are my inspiration! Thank you!
HAPPY NEW YEAR'S EVE!

Snowflake Nails

Hello, Everyone! I've been gone for awhile for the holidays, but I'm back now and BOY do I have things (nail polish related things) to share with you guys. But for now I have a really nice winter design! I saw this design on Fashion Polish's blog HERE. So click it and check it out!
Colors used:
  • China Glaze: Ruby Pumps
  • China Glaze: White on White
And here's a picture of the tree not upside-down.
I used 2 coats of "Ruby Pumps" and then used a thin striper brush to do all the designs using "White on White". I just LOVED this design and I had to try it for myself. I kept it on for several days because I loved it so much. I couldn't bear to take it off. I hope everyone had a nice holiday is getting ready for New Years! Time to make those resolutions!

China Glaze: Ruby Pumps

Hello, Everyone! I just HAD to do a review on this polish. "Ruby Pumps" by China Glaze seems to be THE color for the holidays. EVERYONE is using it. Which is totally understandable, because it's an awesome color. And I've worn it for 4 days already and I still haven't changed it. On to the review!
These pictures were taken in direct sunlight using two thin coats of color.
"Ruby Pumps" is a bright red glitter polish. The polish goes on super smooth even though it's a glitter polish (the glitter is micro-sized so it's not bumpy when it dries). And it dries relatively fast. The color is opaque in two coats and the wear is awesome because like I said, I've worn it for 4 days, and today is my fifth day wearing it, and no chips!
Removing "Ruby Pumps" isn't as east as normal polishes because it IS a glitter polish, but it's not incredibly bad. It could be far, far, FAR worse *cough* ShowItAndGlowIt *cough*. The color really shines in the sun, where you can see how it really sparkles.
I took so many pictures of it that I couldn't narrow them down for the post. So I just posted a bunch of them I mean, it's always more fun to look at the pictures than read the actually post, right? Lol.
I hope everyone has a great Christmas tomorrow. I hope you are all with your family and enjoying the holiday!

Merry Christmas!

O.P.I: Show It and Glow It!

Hello, Everyone! Today I have a review of "Show It and Glow It!" by O.P.I. It is part of O.P.I's Burlesque Collection from the movie Burlesque.

For all the pictures, I used two coats of "Show It and Glow It!" All the pictures were taken in direct sunlight.
"Show It and Glow It!" is a glitter polish with mostly purple glitter with green, gold, and silver glitter. It covers the entire nail with no bald spots with two coats. And because there really isn't any polish color, just a clear polish with a bunch of glitter, it dires super fast. In seconds. So you have to work quickly when applying it. And because it's a glitter, it truly is a pain to remove. You can't rub it off. You have to soak the remover on the nail. That's the only way it'll come off. Or you can just pick it off. :D
I had worn this color layered over another color a long time ago. I used two coats of O.P.I's "Here Today Aragon Tomorrow" with one coat of "Show It and Glow It!". It looked really nice. And here is the picture. :)
So. All in all. It's a nice festive and fun "color", if you can call it that. If you like glitter, I don't think it will disappoint. Out of all the glitters from the Burlesque Collection, I have to say that the only ones I like are this one and "Simmer and Shimmer". But that's just my opinion. :)
Christmas is in 3 days! I can't believe it! Are you ready!?

Tinsel Nails

Hello, Everyone! I just COULDN'T take off my "Emerald City" because it was so beautiful. But I can't keep my nails the same for more than a few days, so it was only a matter of time before I did some nail art with "Emerald City". And I came up with tinsel-looking nails!
Colors used:
  • Revlon: Emerald City
  • L.A. Colors Art Deco: Silver Glitter
For the design, I used two coats of "Emerald City", but one coat works fine. For the silver glitter, I used L.A. Colors Art Deco in silver glitter (there's no label name). There are two sizes of glitter in the polish. Art Deco has a thin brush for easy striping. I ended up using a toothpick to glob on all the silver glitter because the polish was so thick (it's old). I made a fading effect and I think it looked really nice. Just like tinsel. :) And of course I put on my Seche Vite topcoat when I was done.
I think if you used two different sizes of loose glitter and sprinkled it on the polish after putting on a clear coat as a kind of "glue", it would look really nice too. And give the same effect. :)
This is a nice holiday manicure. Simple and doable. And pardon my dry cuticles. It's been cold lately. Lol. But not cold enough to snow. But then again, it never snows where I live. Which I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. But's definitely the season for hot tea, hot chocolate, or coffee. :D

Revlon: Emerald City (With Top Coat)

Hello! Yesterday's post was Revlon's "Emerald City", which has a matte suede finish WITHOUT topcoat. Today's post shows the color WITH a topcoat (Seche Vite), which gets rid of the matte suede finish.
This photo, in order (left to right) is no topcoat (pinky), topcoat (fourth finger), no topcoat (middle finger), topcoat (pointer).
These next two photos have the topcoat on the left and no topcoat on the right.
The next two photos have all the nails with a topcoat. They're all so shiny and beautiful. The color really sparkles and shimmers!
All the pictures prior to the next two were taken in artificial lighting. The next two photos were taken in direct sunlight. As you can see, the color changes. It's not exactly the color below, but it IS a bit brighter than when the polish is in sunlight.
I love love love this color. It's PERFECT for the holidays. And I didn't want to take this color off. So I didn't. I left it on for a few days, AFTER the 2 days I already wore it with the matte finish. And I usually change my nails almost every other day. The wear is great, the removal is easy, the look is GORGEOUS.
This honestly might be my favorite polish that I own. That's something that is HARD to say. But I said it. "Emerald City" is just that awesome of a nail polish. And who would've thought. It's from Revlon of all places. Random.

Revlon: Emerald City

Hello! Today is a special post! I have Revlon's "Emerald City"! I got it at Walgreens a few days ago, and it was the last one. I was O lucky to get it. I also wanted "Ruby Ribbon" but there were no more. But I'm just SO happy I found THIS color! Here's the review!
These photos were taken outside in lots of sunlight.

These photos were taken inside, with only a little bit of light. The color gets darker in the shade, but it's still so beautiful!

I used 2 coats for all the photos. It was ALMOST a one coater, and if you're in a rush, one coat is fine, but there just might be some parts of the nail that aren't totally covered, but if you can get a nice thick and even coat, this is a one-coater. Which is awesome. And because it's a matte-suede color, it dries very fast. But also, because it's matte, you can't put a top coat on it because the matte finish will disappear. So I was afraid that this color would chip. But, ohmygoodness, it didn't. :D I wore it for two days, no chips, not even close. Just the usual tip wear.
All in all, if you don't have this color, FIND IT! And I put a top coat on it on the third day, just to see what it looked like, and it was beyond beautiful. Which will be tomorrow's post. :D
