OPI DS: Classic

Hello, Everyone!  Today's color is OPI DS classic.  Which is part of OPI's Designer Series.  Meaning they have the silver cap.  And they're more expensive.

A lot of the DS polishes are holographic.  This is my second OPI DS polish, DS mystery being my first.  Which I didn't like. Lol. But I got over it.
DS classic officially beats DS mystery, by far.  Even though that not hard to do... :D

  • Coats: 2 coats!  That gave me full coverage.
  • Finish:  A gold/light brown scattered holo!  And because it's a holo, it's recommended to not put a top coat on, because it might diminish the holo effect.
  • Where:  ULTA
  • Wear:  5 DAYS, no chips yet, and NO TOP COAT.
  • Cost:  $12.50.  It's expensive.  But, if you feel like splurging, I really do recommend this color.
  • Staining:  No stains!
  • Application:  Easy!
  • Dry time: Pretty fast.
  • Removal:  So, so so easy to remove.  I was in awe.

LOTS of photos ahead.  Just a warning.
The pictures are color accurate and were taken next to a window with some sunlight.  It hasn't been too sunny lately.

Look how shiny it is!  And that's totally dry, no top coat!

So.  I love this color.  I like this color because it's a neutral, but it's an exciting holo, too.  And the wear was AMAZING, which makes the hefty price tag seem not so awful.  :D

China Glaze: Below Deck

Hello, Everyone!  I have even more from China Glaze's Anchors Away collection.  Today's color is the famous Below Deck.  I'm sure everyone has suffered/enjoyed all the hype of this color.  Not too long ago, every blog had a post on this color.  Call me fashionably late. :D

Below Deck is a purple/taupe/brown muted creme.  Complicated.  But that's just how it is.  It's one of those colors that make it difficult to organize with the rest of my polish.

  • Coats: One beautiful, creamy coat.  I think all the colors in the collection could be a one coater.  But I'm only vouching for 4 of the 12.
  • Finish:  Purple/taupe creme.
  • Where:  ULTA, NOT Sally's, e-tailers
  • Wear:  4 days, no chips yet.
  • Cost:  Varies.  $3.00-6.50
  • Staining:  No stains!
  • Application:  Perfect.  Smooth. :D
  • Dry time:  I think relatively fast.
  • Removal: Easy to remove!  I don't think you'll ever hear me saying something bad about anything that has to do with the Anchors Away collection.
The pictures are color accurate.  The color dries darker on the nail than the bottle color.  And the pictures below were taken with sunlight.

And the color is more brown under a desk lamp.

Below Deck is in the same vein as OPI You Don't Know Jacques!.

Well, I thoroughly enjoyed the color.  I mean, you've already heard everyone rave over it.  So I guess if you haven't gotten it yet... get it! :D  Get it online for cheap!

I hope everyone has a spectacular day.
Oh! Oh!  I hit 80 followers!  :D

China Glaze: Ahoy!

Hello, Everyone!  Today's color is China Glaze Ahoy! from the Anchor's Away Collection Spring 2011.  Which is one of my favorite collections of all time, and possible my favorite China Glaze collection.  After the discontinued Kaleidoscope and OMG collections, of course.

I'm getting off topic.  Ahoy! is a pink/berry jelly with the shimmer/glass fleck that China Glaze does so well.

  • Coats: I was surprised. ONE COAT.  The coat was on the thick side, but still, ONE COAT.  But if you wanted to, the "best" coverage would be 2 thin coats.
  • Finish:  Pink jelly with glass fleck.
  • Where:  ULTA, NOT Sally's, e-tailers
  • Wear:  4 days, no chips yet.
  • Cost:  Varies.  $3.00-6.50
  • Staining:  No stains!
  • Application:  Perfect.  Smooth. :D
  • Dry time:  I think relatively fast.
  • Removal: Easy to remove!

The pictures are color accurate and taken next to a window with sunlight.

And the color looked great under OPI Silver Shatter!  A great combination of colors!  Sorry for the bad picture... D:

I love this color.  The entire Anchors Away Collection is just full of win.  I plan to go through my nail polish list and review all the colors that have yet to be reviewed, starting from the top.  And the first color was Ahoy! so yeah. :D

Anyone else see the last Harry Potter movie?  I saw it today.

Flea Market Haul! OPI DS, OPI, China Glaze, Zoya, Essie

Hello, Everyone!  Long time no see!  I went to a flea market that my friend found, and she told me that they had a lot of nail polish, and so obviously I was all over that. :D  But also, my friend had gotten me three Zoyas and a nail polish stand as a belated birthday present.  So the Zoyas with the ribbons around them are from her.  :D

Left to right: Addison, Sophie, Roxy

Left to right: China Glaze Liquid Leather, Essie Going Incognito, Zoya Edyta
Left to right:  OPI DS Classic, OPI The It Color

And here's an upclose picture of the beautiful OPI DS Classic.

And here's a swatch!  No topcoat.  The camera couldn't capture all the rainbow holo-ness.
When I saw the selection of colors at the market, I wanted to cry for joy.  And I was so excited I hit my friend in the arm several times.  :D

China Glaze: Life Preserver

Hello, Everyone!  Today's color is China Glaze's Life Preserver from the Anchors Away collection for Spring 2011!  I've had my eye on this color for a while, and finally it's mine.  Not to be possessive or anything.  It's just that the entire Anchors Away collection has been a major lemming for me.  And now I have half of it. :D

Life Preserver is pure amazingness.  And you'll see why.

  • Coats: ONE COAT.  One coat gives you perfection.  I mean honestly, what else can you ask for?!
  • Finish:  Orange Creme!
  • Where:  ULTA, NOT Sally's, e-tailers
  • Wear:  4 days, no chips yet.  Are you seeing the amazingness yet?
  • Cost:  Varies.  $3.00-6.50
  • Staining: No stains.  This color has no problems at all.
  • Application:  Prefect. Prefect. Perfect.
  • Dry time:  Normal.
  • Removal: Supremely easy to remove!

I would say the color is more muted and not quite as bright as the pictures.  More like the picture above holding the bottle.

Well.  That's it. :D  My nails are getting long... maybe I should trim them a bit.

I highly recommend Life Preserver.  Please just get it.  You'll love it.  I think it's actually a great summer color. It's bright and fun.  When I first applied it, I thought of Revlon Mad About Mango.  I would say MAM is brighter than LP.  Plus, MAM takes 3 coats.

Other Color From This Collection
It's been awfully rainy lately.  Hopefully the sun will come soon.

China Glaze Kaleidoscope and Anchors Away!

Hello, Everyone! I recently purchased some China Glaze colors online, and they have arrived! I have been in love with China Glaze's Anchors Away collection, and I was so mad that it wasn't being sold at Sally's, so I had to make a trip to ULTA, which resulted in me only being able to get one color of the collection, First Mate.  But now, many months later, I have gotten my hands on 4 more colors of the collection!

And I think I am going to slowly make my way into getting the colors of the Kaleidoscope collection!  I bought 2 of them on ebay.  I can not wait to try them out!

Left to right:  Ahoy!, Life Preserver, Starboard, Below Deck

Left to right:  It's My Turn, Let's Do It In 3D

Aren't they beautiful...  I knew I had to get It's My Turn after seeing it.

I think later today I'm going to do a 4th of July nails design, for those of us in the US. :D

Have a beautiful day~
