China Glaze: Life Preserver

Hello, Everyone!  Today's color is China Glaze's Life Preserver from the Anchors Away collection for Spring 2011!  I've had my eye on this color for a while, and finally it's mine.  Not to be possessive or anything.  It's just that the entire Anchors Away collection has been a major lemming for me.  And now I have half of it. :D

Life Preserver is pure amazingness.  And you'll see why.

  • Coats: ONE COAT.  One coat gives you perfection.  I mean honestly, what else can you ask for?!
  • Finish:  Orange Creme!
  • Where:  ULTA, NOT Sally's, e-tailers
  • Wear:  4 days, no chips yet.  Are you seeing the amazingness yet?
  • Cost:  Varies.  $3.00-6.50
  • Staining: No stains.  This color has no problems at all.
  • Application:  Prefect. Prefect. Perfect.
  • Dry time:  Normal.
  • Removal: Supremely easy to remove!

I would say the color is more muted and not quite as bright as the pictures.  More like the picture above holding the bottle.

Well.  That's it. :D  My nails are getting long... maybe I should trim them a bit.

I highly recommend Life Preserver.  Please just get it.  You'll love it.  I think it's actually a great summer color. It's bright and fun.  When I first applied it, I thought of Revlon Mad About Mango.  I would say MAM is brighter than LP.  Plus, MAM takes 3 coats.

It's been awfully rainy lately.  Hopefully the sun will come soon.

Revlon: Mad About Mango

Hello, Everyone!  Today I have one of Revlon's SCENTED nail polishes!  I saw the display in Walgreens and saw the color "Mad About Mango" and I LOVE LOVE LOVE mangos, so I had to get it.  I got the color more for the smell than the color.  I was actually afraid the color wouldn't go with my skin tone.  Anywho!  Here's the review.

All photos were taken by a window with sunlight with three coats.  The photos are color accurate.

"Mad About Mango" is a bright orange creme.  It is opaque in 2 coats, but it is rather streaky, forcing me to use three coats.  The color is supposed to smell like mangos when dry, at least, that's what I assumed.  And you know what happens when you assume.  Anyway, long story short, the polish definitely smells fruity, but I wouldn't say MANGO-y.  After I applied Seche Vite to make it shiny (because it's not all that shiny by itself), I could still faintly smell the fruitiness.  Which was unexpected, but a good unexpected.

The application was fine, just streaky, and drying time was normal.  Removal was easy.  As for the wear, I only wore it for a day and a half, but for that time, it didn't chip.

This color is bright and fun and perfect for the summer!  So perhaps now isn't the best time for it, but then again, I don't follow the season's colors.  I wear what I feel like wearing.  End of story. :D  I got it at Walgreens for a little under $5.  I ended up really liking the color, and it went fine with my skin tone. :D

That's all for today!  It's been quite cloudy where I live.  But luckily not too cold.  I have been ITCHING to get my hands on the Katy Perry Collection and the Anchor's Away collection.  It's slightly killing me on the inside that I don't have them yet.

Sorry that I keep changing the layout of the blog.  I just change my mind too often.  But I like the layout now because it's simple and doesn't seem crowded or busy.  But we'll see how long it lasts. Lol.

O.P.I: Rising Star

Hello, Everyone! Today I have a review from O.P.I's Burlesque Collection. The color is called "Rising Star".

All photos were taken by a window with direct sunlight, and the photos are pretty much color accurate. I used two coats in all the pictures. :)
"Rising Star" is a copper/orange/almost gold shimmer/micro-glitter polish. It's not glittery in the sense that it's bumpy, it's just that the removal is hard and you have to use the foil technique to get it off, and when it comes off there's little silver glitter everywhere. But the color also has a foil finish so it looks metallic. Two coats is perfect for this polish.
I personally really like the color and I'm glad I got it, but I just don't think it works best with my skin tone. I saw another blogger wearing it and she had a darker skin tone, and it looked a lot better on her than me. But regardless, I'll still wear the color. :)
I believe that is all for today! Have a wonderful day! An don't forget to get your 3 free Zoya nail polishes! Just go to www.zoya.com and use the code FB2011 for 3 free colors! You just have to pay for shipping, which is $6.95.
