China Glaze: Below Deck

Hello, Everyone!  I have even more from China Glaze's Anchors Away collection.  Today's color is the famous Below Deck.  I'm sure everyone has suffered/enjoyed all the hype of this color.  Not too long ago, every blog had a post on this color.  Call me fashionably late. :D

Below Deck is a purple/taupe/brown muted creme.  Complicated.  But that's just how it is.  It's one of those colors that make it difficult to organize with the rest of my polish.

  • Coats: One beautiful, creamy coat.  I think all the colors in the collection could be a one coater.  But I'm only vouching for 4 of the 12.
  • Finish:  Purple/taupe creme.
  • Where:  ULTA, NOT Sally's, e-tailers
  • Wear:  4 days, no chips yet.
  • Cost:  Varies.  $3.00-6.50
  • Staining:  No stains!
  • Application:  Perfect.  Smooth. :D
  • Dry time:  I think relatively fast.
  • Removal: Easy to remove!  I don't think you'll ever hear me saying something bad about anything that has to do with the Anchors Away collection.
The pictures are color accurate.  The color dries darker on the nail than the bottle color.  And the pictures below were taken with sunlight.

And the color is more brown under a desk lamp.

Below Deck is in the same vein as OPI You Don't Know Jacques!.

Well, I thoroughly enjoyed the color.  I mean, you've already heard everyone rave over it.  So I guess if you haven't gotten it yet... get it! :D  Get it online for cheap!

I hope everyone has a spectacular day.
Oh! Oh!  I hit 80 followers!  :D

China Glaze: Life Preserver

Hello, Everyone!  Today's color is China Glaze's Life Preserver from the Anchors Away collection for Spring 2011!  I've had my eye on this color for a while, and finally it's mine.  Not to be possessive or anything.  It's just that the entire Anchors Away collection has been a major lemming for me.  And now I have half of it. :D

Life Preserver is pure amazingness.  And you'll see why.

  • Coats: ONE COAT.  One coat gives you perfection.  I mean honestly, what else can you ask for?!
  • Finish:  Orange Creme!
  • Where:  ULTA, NOT Sally's, e-tailers
  • Wear:  4 days, no chips yet.  Are you seeing the amazingness yet?
  • Cost:  Varies.  $3.00-6.50
  • Staining: No stains.  This color has no problems at all.
  • Application:  Prefect. Prefect. Perfect.
  • Dry time:  Normal.
  • Removal: Supremely easy to remove!

I would say the color is more muted and not quite as bright as the pictures.  More like the picture above holding the bottle.

Well.  That's it. :D  My nails are getting long... maybe I should trim them a bit.

I highly recommend Life Preserver.  Please just get it.  You'll love it.  I think it's actually a great summer color. It's bright and fun.  When I first applied it, I thought of Revlon Mad About Mango.  I would say MAM is brighter than LP.  Plus, MAM takes 3 coats.

It's been awfully rainy lately.  Hopefully the sun will come soon.

OPI: Stranger Tides

Hello, Everyone!  Today's color is Stranger Tides, which is from my current favorite OPI collection: the Pirates of the Caribbean!  There's not one color I don't like in that collection.

Anyway!  Stranger Tides is a green-gray creme that reminds me of a really light version of Essie's Sew Psyched.  Also, when I wore ST, I was reminded of the color of sand.  You can be the judge.

  • Coats:  2 coats for smooth coverage with no visible nail line.
  • Finish:  Creme
  • Where:  ULTA, Trade Secret
  • Wear:  I wore it for 3 days and it didn't look like it was going to chip any time soon.
  • Cost:  $8.50 (the standard amount)
  • Staining: No stains!
  • Application:  No problems.
  • Dry time:  Normal
  • Removal:  Supremely easy, just like all the other colors of the same collection.

The pictures are color accurate! :)

I used the "X-Large" photos even thought I always used the "Large" sized photos.  "Large" just seems too small, but "X-Large" seems overwhelming.  So I don't know what to do...

I recommend Stranger Tides because it's a pretty neutral color that's calming and pleasant, and it has that amazing murkiness that the entire Pirates collection has.

OPI: Sparrow Me the Drama

Hello, Everyone!  I'm on a blogging roll!  I've been consistently posting!  And today is OPI's Sparrow Me the Drama form the Pirates of the Caribbean collection.

I bought the mini collection which includes Sparrow Me the DramaPlanks a LotSkull and Glossbones, and Stranger Tides.  Each bottle has 3.75 mL compared to a normal sized OPI bottle of 15 mL.  The colors of the mini set that I like, I plan on getting the bigger bottles.  On to the review.

  • Coats:  2 coats for opaqueness; I needed a 3rd coat on some nails for bald spots, but I think that only happened because I had to use the mini brush from the mini bottle.  If I had a normal sized bottle, I bet I could of just used 2 coats.
  • Finish:  Buttery creme. :D
  • Where:  ULTA, Trade Secret
  • Wear:  I wore it for 3 days and it didn't look like it was going to chip any time soon.
  • Cost:  $8.50 (the standard amount)
  • Staining: No stains!
  • Application:  Easy, breezy.  Very smoooooth.
  • Dry time:  Normal
  • Removal:  Easy!
The photos are color accurate.  SMTD is a dusty light pink that looks more murky (murkier?) in the shade.  The entire Pirates collection has a murky look, which I LOVE.  It makes me REALLY like this pink.  And I'm one of the many bloggers who don't like pink polish.
I really like this color.  It's a nice go-to pink and it makes me feel girly and fresh. :P  I'm getting the normal sized bottle as soon as I can find one.  This really seems to be the perfect pink for me and my skin tone, which is nice to have.  I think there's a pink out there for everyone. :)

And in case you don't stalk Zoya's facebook page, there's a new promo.  Use the code ZOYASPARKLE and you will get a free bottle of Charla and a free bottle of Ivanka with any purchase, excluding spoons.  I obviously already placed my order. :D

O.P.I: Jade is the New Black

Hello, Everyone!  Today I have a very popular color on the nail blogs!  It's O.P.I's "Jade is the New Black".  AND if anyone is interested in seeing  a swatch of Zoya's "Indigo"  you can check out my sister's blog The Mod Girl.

All the pictures were taken with artificial and two coats of color.  The photos are color accurate.

"Jade is the New Black" is a beautiful green jade creme.  There's not much else to describe the color.  Jade is the perfect color to describe the color.  I used 2 coats, which allowed perfect coverage!  Application is as smooth as ever!  Drying time is normal and removal was easy!

The wear is amazing.  I wore it for four days without chips!  It's a long-lasting polish.  And really enjoyed this color, and if you don't have it, get it!

I hope everyone has/had a great day!  Do any of you have this color?  Do you like it?
